Universal Express Pass: Skip the Lines, Ride the Movies 🎬🎢

Want to spend less time waiting in line and more time enjoying the rides? At Universal Orlando, the Universal Express Pass is your golden ticket to maximizing fun. If you’re new to it, here’s your ultimate guide to how it works, where to get it, and tips for making the most of it.

What is the Universal Express Pass? 🎟️

The Universal Express Pass is a paid add-on that lets you skip the regular standby line at most attractions. Instead, you’ll use the Express Pass line—saving valuable time and energy during your day in the parks.

There are two main options:

  • Universal Express Pass – Skip the regular line one time per participating ride per day. This pass is about $99.99 per person.

  • Universal Express Unlimited Pass – Skip the line as many times as you want all day long. This pass is about $129.99 per person.

Where Can You Use It? 🗺️

The Express Pass works at Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Epic Universe on most rides and shows. This means you’ll save time in line at many of the parks’ most popular attractions

👉 Note: Some attractions (like Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure and Pteranodon Flyers) do not currently accept Express Pass.

How to Get an Express Pass đź’ł

You’ve got a few options:

  1. Buy it in advance when you purchase your park tickets online.

  2. Add it day-of at ticket counters, kiosks, or in the Universal Orlando app (availability can sell out on busy days).

  3. Stay at a Premier Universal Hotel (Loews Royal Pacific Resort, Hard Rock Hotel, or Loews Portofino Bay Hotel) and get Express Unlimited included FREE with your stay!

Tips for Using Express Pass Like a Pro 🧭

  • Arrive early anyway – You’ll knock out one or two popular rides before lines build.

  • Stack Express for peak hours – Save your Express access for late morning or afternoon when lines are longest.

  • Combine with the Universal app – Use the app to check real-time wait times and plan your Express Pass strategy.

  • Do it on busy days – If you’re visiting during holidays, spring break, or summer weekends, Express Pass is helpful to beat the crowds.

Is It Worth It? 🤔

For many families and groups, the Express Pass pays for itself in saved time and extra experiences. Instead of waiting 60–90 minutes per ride, you’ll spend that time enjoying more attractions, dining, and exploring the immersive worlds of Universal.
