The Top 7 Destinations we’re booking in 2023

Sheer beauty, natural wonders, entertainment, and some dang fine food push these destinations to the top of the vacation bucket list.

These hot spots aren’t necessarily One and Done either. Most vacationers are repeat offenders, returning to their favorite destinations because they fall in love with the city, the people or just the memories they’ve made in the past.

South Florida: Miami and Key West

From the Art Deco architecture of South Beach to the sandy bars of Hemingway’s’ Key West, South Florida is a vacationer’s paradise. If you plan on exploring, you’ll want to rent a car for sure… or you may just want to hunker down in one spot and get to know the area. Either way, you won’t be disappointed.

Best time to visit: Late winter and Early Spring

Maui, Hawaii

One of my personal favorites. Maui is divine. It’s paradise. Ocean front Luau’s, black sand beaches, swimming with turtles, sunrises over volcanos and fruit stands every where you look. We stopped at a roadside stand on the Road to Hana where I was served fresh fruit from the rainforest just feet away, sugar cane, mangos, lilikoi with a slice of homemade banana bread. Unless you plan on hanging out at your resort for the whole trip (you’d be doing yourself a disservice!) then you’ll need a rental car. Get the Jeep… it’s worth it.

Best time to visit: April and May, winter for waves and whale watching

Sedona, Arizona

Looking for some good energy? Then Sedona is for you! Sedona gained popularity due to several vortexes in the region. What’s a vortex, you ask? It’s an area where the earth literally seems to hum with energy. At least that’s what they say… I don’t know about good the good vibes coming up from that red dirt (it stains)… but people love to get out and enjoy some of state parks here. Sedona is well known for its hiking, unique rock formations and gorgeous western scenery. Just a few hours from Phoenix and the Grand Canyon, using Sedona with it's Spa’s and Fine dining, as a central location to travel from, is a great idea.

Best times to visit: Spring – Between March and May

Orlando, Florida

For the theme park enthusiasts (or sentimentalists – raising my hand) … Walt Disney World and Universal Studios are the biggest draws. While these may not be known for sweeping landscapes and natural wonders… they are known for good times, laughter, entertainment, and memories. We book more vacations to Orlando than any other vacation spot in the United States. At Disney World you can cover all the childhood nostalgia and Star Wars and over at Universal it’s Superhero’s and Harry Potter. Friendly to solo travelers, adults only and families with kids, Orlando has a lot to offer.

Best time to visit: Late Winter, Early Spring

Nashville

Ahh, Nashville. Now that, is a good time. Stay downtown where you can walk to all the great dining and bars. Everyplace has good music. Seriously… you cannot find a place with bad music. Take in a show at the Ryman. Visit the Johnny Cash Museum and enjoy a Burlesque show at Skulls Rainbow Room in Printers Alley (get there early for a good spot). Eat BBQ and buy yourself a pair of cowboy boots. Don’t forget to visit the Parthenon (yes, you read that right. There’s a Parthenon in Nashville. It’s totally worth seeing.) Nashville is a great adult getaway… don’t get me wrong… there’s things for kids too… BUT… if you are looking to escape for a few nights with your significant other or the girls… Nashville is a great option!

Best time to visit: Late Spring, Early Fall

New York City

NYC is always on the list, right? From the Broadway shows, excellent museums, dining and shopping, Times Square and Central Park there is more than enough to see and do while hitting one of the biggest cities in the world. Trips in the Fall and during the winter holidays are popular for the overall vibe of the city. Fall in New York just sounds perfect, doesn’t it? There’s virtually no bad time to take in the sights… well January and February can be a bit frigid… but there’s plenty to do if you want to stay warm inside.

Best time to visit: Anytime

New Orleans

Renowned for its music, food and nightlife, New Orleans is a unique destination. Your To-Do list may be a bit lengthy, so I would suggest creating a list of Must-Do’s and Do If You Can’s. Since New Orleans is considered one of the most haunted places in the United States, you’ll want to take in a Ghost Tour and maybe a historic tour to see some of the city’s architectural gems. There’s the gothic above-ground cemeteries to see (and don’t be creeped out, this is a popular and common excursion) and you should get some Beignets and coffee at Café du Monde. Other Must-Do’s include Frenchman St. the French Quarter and Blaine Kerns Mardi Gras World.

Best time to visit: February to May with an eye on Carnival Season and Mardi Gras.
